This system allows a sound source to be positioned virtually in any point within the three-dimensional space. The algorithm allows the information relating to both the horizontal and vertical positions to be encoded. This machine's controls consist in 8 potentiometers, arranged in pairs. Each pair acts on a sound channel and controls elevation and azimuth in the space. The combination of these controls allows the sound source to be positioned in the three-dimensional space. A controller for the simulation of the doppler effect [Doppler effect ] is also included, thus making moving sounds even more realistic. The following diagram shows a pair of controls:
