Presentation of Audiosonica 2.0

"Two point Zero" in informatics means that a product has metabolysed and integrated new functions, and the new version is sufficiently stable and evolved to have become a new product, derived from the previous one but radically better.

Similarly, for Audiosonica a new phase begins: the 2.0 phase, which inherits the web-experience and presence of these past years and presents itself with a polished look, very enthusiastic indeed, renovated, and with a few innovations here listed:

New graphics

The new site presents a complete graphic restyling and a different distribution of its contents. The main innovation is represented by the choice of a black text over white background, contrarily to the previous site. This change has taken place as a result of the numerous recommendations, gratefully taken onboard, with regards to the legibility of the site's contents. Moreover the new platform allows a more flexible management of the various sections of the site in order for future (but imminent) site expansions to take place.

Restoration of the Search function

On the old platform this function never really worked that well, and has in fact been completely eliminated in the last few years. Apart from it being in use once again, soon it will be possible to perform searches within single sections as well as the entire site.

Use of Tags

This is a means to aggregate contents that deal with the same topic. To each content, key words are associated. Thereafter it is possible to list all the content that has been associated to a particular word (tag) in order to have them immediately at hand. Apart from this a tag-cloud highlights the tags that have recurred most frequently in the contents. The more the site is enriched in content, the more this function shall become useful in the search for information on a particular topic.

Update of directory links

A new version of the directory has been imported, once again thanks to Steve Eklab's kind concession. The links are now all working again.

Feed RSS

To read a detailed description of the concept of RSS and its usage, go to Wikipedia where there is a detailed description of the latter.

The site offers feed RSS in the sections where its presence is useful, as is the case for example in the "news" section. We chose the product Excite Mix as feed's favourite "aggregator", which allows feed RSS to be added with a simple click on the following button: shall be present automatically in the supplied sections of feed RSS, and by clicking it will be possible to add to one's feed the one relative to the page that is being visualized.

I would like to thank all those who have been in touch with this blog, that have left comments, that have written emails to me asking questions and expressing appreciation and solidarity, that have placed trust in the project by buying the CD, that have bought the book, and those (and there are many of you) that have helped me and those who have pointed out imprecisions.

Audiosonica 2.0 is born thanks to the powerful driving force that I have received from all these people and I am convinced that the efforts made shall be appreciated by Sound Engineering fans!
