Aims
The course's aim is to deepen practical and theoretical understanding of the digital and analogical electro-acoustic technology that is present in the various music and audio production and projecting settings.
Course programme
Introduction: elements of acoustics and architectonic acoustics, sound perception, types and characteristics of sound sources, basic electricity notions. Representations of audio signals in time and frequency domains.
Electro-acoustic transducers : technologies, characteristics and functions. Microphones. Audio monitors. Mixing Consolles. Recorders. Memorization supports. Loudspeakers. Sound treatment electroacoustic technologies: treatment of dynamics, of the spectrum, of height and length (compressors-expanders, filters, delays, echoes and reverbs, height transposers. Audio production techniques. Recording studios. Audio recording. Magnetic recording and digital techniques. Post-production. Electronic instruments. Audio and MIDI networks. Audio installations. Projecting functional and operative schemes. Workshops and training with electroacoustic instruments applied to the various phases of an audio production cycle.
